Couldn't help but laugh the first time I matched up with one of those super geth. I kept looking and looking for that geth Prime and never found him .. until I realized it was the player and his character who kept shooting that Siege Pulse rather than a Prime, lol.
(Yeah, so I don't keep up with the BW forums at all times, silly me, ha ha)
I avoid the BW forums like the plague, they're friggin' awful. These days I try to avoid internet places full of dickbags who get their jollies by trying to hurt other people. So I get all my game fandom and MP jollies from the LJ fan community and smaller groups of people I trust and enjoy.
Hah, well so far they haven't seemed nearly as bad as the old Halo forums. Say one word on there and it's the wrong word, you'll get instantly knocked down, stomped on and burned.
I actually pop into BW once in a while to look for useful MP tips and tricks, that's about it. Oh, and to see if there's something hilarious in the fan creations sections. Found some really funny threads there, I was laughing my way around the LOLS thread through Christmas. So it's probably not all bad.
Aha, I see. Never been there. (So, do you have any good tips about how to play Gold matches? I'm about to try after what, like a YEAR, lol)
I'm afraid I mostly play Silver myself, though I've done passably on Gold when I've played it. On Gold, your ability to do a lot of damage fast seems to be key, so classes that can quickly generate explosions (biotic, tech, fire, etc) are very good. Infiltrators are also valued for rezzing and objectives. Mostly, it's about staying together and burning down dangerous mobs as quickly as possible. Slow classes and classes susceptible to sync kills can be problematic as there are a lot of boss mobs (unless you're fighting geth).
Yeah, I'm not really planning to be a regular gold player myself, just figured I should at least try get the last two banners which are Lone Wolf and Nomad for me. Problem is, I don't really have a favourite character, lol. It's MUCH easier to explain which I don't like and never use, he he.
Those are good advice though, thank you. Hoooo, I'm actually kind of looking forward to seeing if there are a lot of Juggernaughts and Warlords around and if there are, how they fare. Heh, I was actually planning to stick to geth enemies mostly. No pesky husks or Phantoms there, and nothing that can grab you and insta-kill you. (I think, never had that happen with a Prime anyway)
I tend to max out turret (attack/hps/flamethrower) and Overload (multi-hit and stun), and have Hunter vision at 3. Then the usual 5/6 for power damage and hit points. I use the turret aggressively, putting into groups of enemies while I stand back and chain stun and shoot. The hunter vision gives me some additional situational awareness to stay away from trouble spots, and I usually use a Carnifex with A/P and ultralight mats to keep my power recharge as fast as possible.
