Quick-ish color study that turned into Garrus. Tried finding an image that had a color palette I liked then using it as a color source and shading guide. Kind of a pale comparison, but meh, not unhappy with the result.

You know, I was going to ask you eventually if you'd ever thought to try a picture with a more saturated palette one of these days. I like this! I've noticed you tend to take a more neutral sort of color value to your work (I noticed this especially in the Kaidan picture you'd posted the other day), so it's very interesting to see your style with a brighter "pop" to it. =>

I think because of what I do at work, I'm used to having to match reality, which means keeping colors fairly muted. But of course, that doesn't necessarily make for good personal artwork. So yeah, I have to work on more interesting color usage. I figured using a painting would be along the lines of those color palette memes you've shown me before- a good exercise.
